Some email clients display a small profile photo or avatar next to the sender's name in the inbox. Even though you're sending emails through AWeber, the image actually comes from the mailbox provider that's hosting your email address.
Important: Whether or not your photo appears depends on the recipient's email client. Inbox providers control what they display, and your image is not guaranteed to show for all recipients.
Option 1: Update Your Mailbox Provider Settings
If your email address is hosted by a web host (such as Namecheap or another provider), you can update your profile photo directly in your hosting account's email settings. Look for a profile or personal details section under the Email area of your hosting control panel.
Option 2: Update Your Gmail or Google-Hosted Address
If you're using a Gmail address or a Google-hosted domain address, you can add or change your profile photo directly in Gmail:
-
Open Gmail and click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
-
Select Manage your Google Account.
-
Click on your profile photo to upload a new image. You can use a photo of yourself or your brand's logo.
Option 3: Use Gravatar
Gravatar (Globally Recognized Avatar) is a free service that links a profile photo to an email address. It's useful if you want the same profile image to appear across multiple platforms, not just emails.
-
Visit gravatar.com and create a free account.
-
Sign up using the same email address you use as your sending address in AWeber.
-
Upload a square profile photo. A size of 300x300 pixels or smaller is recommended.
-
To verify it's active, go to https://en.gravatar.com/site/check/ and enter your sending email address.
Confirm Your Sending Address in AWeber
Whichever option you use, make sure the email address you set the profile photo for matches your sending address in AWeber:
-
Log in to your AWeber account.
-
Click the List Settings tab for the list you send from.
-
Confirm that the "From Email" address matches the email you updated.
Things to Keep in Mind
-
Profile image display is controlled by the recipient's inbox provider, not by AWeber or by you.
-
Not all email clients support profile images. Results will vary by recipient.
-
Gmail may tie avatar display to sender reputation and other factors.
-
There is no way to guarantee your photo will appear for all recipients.
